My friend Stephanie over at Thoughts from Cali shared this with me and I am passing it along. It is for a great cause. Please help out if you can!
It is said that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish.
I want to take this time to feature a very special little girl. Her name is Lizzie, she is 9 years old.
You see her little sister has to have her sugar levels checked in fear of diabetes. After hearing the news of a close friend who was diagnosed with Diabetes Lizzie decided she wants to help, raise money to find a cure.
For every dollar that is donated to Cranes 4 a Cure Lizzie will make a crane and put the name of the person who donated on the wing. Once she has collected $1000 she will string all the cranes together and give it to the Juvenile Diabetes foundation with all the money she has raised.
If you'd like to donate, please visit Cranes 4 a Cure or for more information you can email Lizzie's mommy, Jenny, at cranes4acure@gmail.com.

Thanks for sharing Steph!
*hugs*

That's really awesome! A local charity did something similar with origami cranes to help aid those in Japan affected by the Tsunami
I think it was the same organization (or maybe just something similar) where they donate $2 to Japan for every crane made. Our co-workers produced more than a thousand cranes! =D
