In today's economy everyone is looking to save a few bucks, and when it comes to your wedding why not! I was doing some recent shopping at Costco and in the checkout line came across the recent Costco Connection titled, Weddings by Costco. Wait....What?! Yup! Duh...what a great idea!!
Think about it, according to the Association for Wedding Professionals, a couple in the US will spend roughly $19,581.00 (between $14,686 and $24,476) not including the cost of the honeymoon or engagement ring. WOW! That's a lot of dough!
So why not save where you can...right?! Well here is a list of what's available for your big day from Costco:
- Wedding Dress (article on the dresses from the Costco Connection)I can personally vouch for their flowers. For my sister in laws wedding last May, we pre ordered pink and white roses. We picked them up the night before and they were BEAUTIFUL!!! Flawless flowers, and it was so easy and half the cost of a florist. Here is what they looked like. We did arrange them ourselves in our own glassware:
- Diet and Weight loss
- Flowers (Centerpieces, Bouquets, Boutonnieres, Corsages, DIY Centerpiece kits, Etc.)
- Invitations (Save the Date, Invites and Thank you cards)
- Rings
- Gifts
- Food (bakery/reception)
- Honeymoon

A friend of mine got her wedding dress at Costco, very unexpectedly. I am impressed with the new line. Weddings are getting ridiculously expensive. I work with a lot of brides and can't believe all that is spent. Crazy.
Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday!
I had no idea Costco sells wedding dresses.
I think it's a great idea! Thanks for visiting on my SITS Day!
I am still wrapping my head around the dresses at costco -but people buy dresses at sample sales and warehouse sales without all the bridal salon touches, so why not. I do love their flowers. Costoco is actually pretty smart for marketing to the brides in this economy.
When my sisters and I married, we had the choice of having the wedding with the blow-out reception or have a quiet family affair and keep the money. I chose the first, my sisters chose the latter, and boy, were they smart! I now say, save the money and use it on your first home and/or a wonderful vacation! It can still be beautiful and wonderful if the celebration is small.
Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts
Wow! I am all about savings. I don't care what the brand - as long as it looks good. Wedding prices are so outrageous to me. More than a car's worth of dough for one night? I would never think of Costco, but now that you've pointed it out it makes sense. I gotta check out the wedding dresses though, that sounds interesting.
If it saves you money, why not? We were able to spend a minimum amount for our wedding. It's not really the price.. it's how everything is put together. Plus! It's the marriage, not just the wedding. =)

We don't have a Costco membership because the closest one to us is 45 minutes away, but we do shop at Sam's. They didn't have many wedding-related items so I didn't use anything of theirs for our wedding. I do shop there at Christmastime -- they have some amazing bundled gifts that you can buy to give out to your co-workers and save lots of $$$.
wow!! that's a great idea!! speaking of saving mula. my friend got her wedding dress off ebay! great designer brand, fraction of the price...it was used once before, but if you look past that part...so pretty :) dry cleaners work miracles!
Stopping by from SITS. Costco does everything! It amazes me.
If anyone has or knows of someone who has bought a dress from Costco, I would love to interview them!!!
Wow that is fantastic - what will they think of next? Loving those beautiful flower pictures. :)
I think it is fabulous when people think out of the box and plan a sane wedding.
